Seems like they could have repro-ed the handles. Wow. Maybe they just haven't installed the lamp. Says, "The magazine rack, chrome emblem, drip caps, gas lamp and metal countertop edging will all be included in the reissued unit." I just wish they hadn't done it at all.. but oh, well. Btw, did they originally have checkered floors?

All the above and more is true BUT what they probably said is those that know will realize that this is not exactly like the original, but those very few who know the difference wouldn't buy one anyway and the other 99.44% of the world will be glad to buy a limited edition duplicate to tow behind their old car. It is a world where it all comes down to dollars and sense and the lack there of.

How about this quote from the article:
“It is truly a re-issue,” said Lucas. “I bought a 1961 Airflyte for my wife, and this is as close to the original as possible. From the frame, drop axle, 15-inch wheels all the way to the one piece metal roof which is bent around the edge, we painstakingly tried to replicate the original.”

IDK, guess we'll have to wait for the unveiling and see what's really going to be put out there.

NO, THEY DID NOT HAVE BLACK AND WHITE CHECKERBOARD FLOORS....
That's one element I really dislike. Granted, black and white is retro, just not in little trailers...My kitchen has the checkered floor. I like the look but the black shows light dirt and the white shows dark dirt. Sigh.

Looks like a diner! But maybe that's what they were going for.

Price not as bad as I thought. Says less than $15,000. Would love to see this in person. Link: 2015 Shasta Airflyte

I have a bad feeling that they are going to put the a/c on the roof. See the vent opening cut out but nothing in it yet. link

Hamlet remains unimpressed and would not like, under any circumstances to sleep on those cushions. In the original Airflyte, they were almost 6" thick with springs. These are three. The red and black theme is the typical "retro" for everything from home kitchens to diners. They figure most people won't remember what things really looked like, and it'll sell. We did dull red and off white for Hamlet's floor. We were going to just do one color, like the original, but danged if we could agree on the color!
I finally found this in the advert... "nearly exact replica of it's iconic 1961 Shasta Airflyte 16SC Travel Trailer". Here, and on the previous forum, the SC and the SCS haven't been referred to as Airflytes. I guess that confused me when I heard there was a bathroom. So with the shower, it'd be more akin to the SCS, the fact that the link shows the ad for the original Airflyte added to the confusion.

wow! so much hate and discontent. And misinformation. I mean, woah. I thought this was supposed to be a friendly pastime/hobby/obsession.
It reminds me of a dr seuss story:
The Sneetches, by Dr. Seuss Now, the Star-Bell Sneetches had bellies with stars. The Plain-Belly Sneetches had none upon thars. Those stars weren’t so big. They were really so small. You might think such a thing wouldn’t matter at all.
But, because they had stars, all the Star-Belly Sneetches Would brag, “We’re the best kind of Sneetch on the beaches.” With their snoots in the air, they would sniff and they’d snort “We’ll have nothing to do with the Plain-Belly sort!” And, whenever they met some, when they were out walking, They’d hike right on past them without even talking...
