Alright everybody. Especially you Larry! I have searched through all your videos and for the life of me cannot find the one where you talk about how to take out the sliding cabinet doors. I want to remove mine so I can refinish them properly and how you do it is so easy but I cannot remember and don't want to screw it up. I obviously cannot replace these doors if I make a mistake!
So if any of you know which video it is, could you kindly tell me which one? I'm pretty sure it was the Deville.
Thanks in advance!!!

Basically, you slide the doors half way. Lift up into the upper groove, they should clear the lower lip. Then wrangle them (carefully) out of the opening. Sometimes, the sliders are quite tight, so moving them back and forth may help.

Another thing you can do if the doors don't slide easily enough is to take a crayon, small candle or a piece of soap and drag it along the inside of the track. It'll help the door move more smoothly, at least until the stuff wears off.

Damn! That wood piece in the track is stapled in! Unless I chisel it out, it ain't coming out I swear Lakewood made this trailer to survive an eternity! Too bad the po's didn't care. Well I guess I'll have to sand and shellac with them in their respective spots. Good thing I know what I'm doing when it comes to refining difficult "furniture". I have to put those skills to work. Not going to be fun. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I haven't seen the vid but I don't think there's an easy way to get mine out without taking part of my bench apart.

Sorry I just found this thread. If there is a question that is specifically for me you should always pm me and direct me to said question. I don't always check every single thread started...
As seen in the video there is a little 1/8 inch stick in the tops of the sliders on some models. Shastas don't have them. But Devilles do and some others. If that piece has been stapled in just remove the staple then slide out the sticks. Then raise the sliding panel up and tilt the bottom out. Same if there is no stick.

I thought about sending you a pm but wasn't sure if you'd be up to checking them yet. Glad to see your feeling good enough to at be able to be here!! Plus, I thought if I started a thread on the subject, it might help someone else with the same question. Turns out that not only are are my 1/8" strips of wood stapled in, but they are so dry that no matter how careful I am, they break. At first I thought it was no big deal, I could replace them, but they proved to be fat too stubborn to remove so I am going to work around it. Maybe I should post a video! Lol (I'd end up cussing so much YouTube would remove it!) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hey go ahead and post a video. I can't believe I am still the only one doing it. There was another guy doing it who had a professional RV repair shop and was sponsored by many producers of RV products but he just disappeared. He was completely rebuilding a Canned Ham in his shop and it was looking good. Had all the modern luxuries and still kept the vintage look to it. I learned about dealing with copper tubing from him. LOL... If you cuss just cover it up with music. Can't believe those sticks are in there so tight that you can't get them out. Maybe they glued them in? Right now I have nothing to do until the surgery this Thursday. After that I may be very limited on what I am able to do with my good eye so for the time being I'm all over this board. By the way this board is the ONLY forum I am on for vintage trailers. I have looked at all the others because I have been invited to be on all of them. But I wanted to pick just one to be on. I do this because I don't have the time to be on more than one board. This one proved to be the friendliest for me. It's also the "most home like" for me. I actually feel like I have a family here. Especially now with the eye problem. I'm so glad I picked this board to be a member of.

My video would be all music if it was anything like my day was yesterday! HA! I think they are either a super tight fit or quite possibly glued. Either way, the builder did not intend for them to EVER be removed! I totally agree with you about the boards. This one feels like home So happy you are here too! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
