You all know about my lighting obsession.... "Hello my name is Lady Wendolyn and I am a lightaholic"... I think Vix might be one too.. So I came across this light on e-bay.. super cheap..and I just instantly pushed "buy it now".. with no idea of where to use it on the trailer. It looks like the exterior "framing" could easily come off or be adapted some how if necessary... any thoughts on where it would work for my trailer? Would this possibly work as a porch light? Or is it too weird? I will of course rewire it. Description said.. Ends come off, looks like it's missing a nut at one end, original blue aquarium tube bulb inside No chips or cracks on the glass, no breaks on the metal Measures 10-1/2" tall, glass is 7" tall, 2-7/8" in diameter. VERY heavy thick frosted glass

IMHO, I believe what you have there is a reading lamp that used to go on top of a beds headboard back in the day. Circa 20's - 40's.

I don't know about the reading part but it is part of a set of bedroom lamps the one you have was called a bed lamp and it used a clear tube bulb not to exceed 40 watt if I remember correctly, the rest of the set included two vertical table lamps that also used the same tube bulbs. they were a hot item 75 years ago. We still have a complete set that belonged to my wife grandmother. The table lamps have a matching glass base. The set we have is a little fancier it has hobbnail glass globes.

I love that light! I don't know if it would stand up to exterior use, but it would make a cool porch light. Send it to me if you don't want it

Definitely has to stay an interior light, not water resistant...
It is made to hang on a bed headboard. My Gramma had several. This is TOO COOL! The main thing is to leave a "space" behind for the light/bulb, as they generate heat. You might be able to modify the mount to fit under a cabinet.
And sigh, I'm vikx and I'm a light-a-holic...
