I have decided to throw out the original furnace that came with the trailer. We would like the option of boon docking, no hook ups, and don't want to use the noisy old battery/gas hog furnace. After lots of research, I am going to order a Wave heater. I am just a bit stuck on the size. My trailer is 13 ft. It gets pretty cold in Canada in the spring, and in the mountains, so I was thinking about a Wave6, but then read a few reviews that said they are too big for my size trailer. Has anyone used one of these heaters, and if so.. what size did you buy, what size is your trailer and is the heat adequate? Thanks

most everyone with the smaller 13 ft campers say a Wave3 is plenty. I know some on here have them.

I'm not sure they make a heater that will warm these trailers at 40 or 50 below that you talk about. You need to mention what exterior temps you are wanting to use the trailer heater in that way people can give you better advice. If I lived in Southern California it take a much smaller heater than it would in your area on that same date in the spring. The temps you might be talking about might be colder than some of us see in the middle of winter.

Our temperatures in the spring can drop to zero Celsius which I believe is 32 degrees F. We wouldn't use the camper in colder weather than that. I believe it can get down near freezing in the mountains in the USA as well, which we do often go to.

It depends on where you mount the heater and the ventilation. Do the research on the specs on each. Personally, I use the Wave 3 in trailers under 15 feet. (that includes the tongue) I'm guessing the 13 feet on yours is the body? If so, the 6 would be nice if the clearances permit. I lived with a 6 for five years and they are really nice. (apartment 12 x 36) The 6 requires more ventilation than the 3. They also put out more condensation, as a by product of burning propane is water.
The colder it gets, the more condensation on the windows...
Don't get me wrong, I really like Wave heaters. They just need to be used according to the instructions, with knowledge of the characteristics.
