11 grand for OSB walls? LOL I don't friggin' think so. The first pothole you hit will rip the frame screws right out of those "walls". Not even talking about after it leaks and they turn into wet cardboard.

It looks like his siding is all one piece, no seams except at the corners. His trailers look good except for a few things. The resemblance to the old Shasta Compact being one of them....

PARTICLE BOARD??? Seriously??? Wonder how long the warranty is on that?? Hamlet says... DITTO! This one doesn't have to become lipstick on a pig, it's starting out as lipstick on a pig.

Interesting... My original obession for a 'Ham', oddly, (y'all ought to know by now I'm a brisket guy)came from a vintage motorcycle site. Here's the post; www.mikenchell.com/VintagePlans/vintageplans.htmlI knew I needed to build something. When Scotty showed up for pocket change I looked at it as a tutorial, for pluses and pitfalls. I think this idea of building new on traditional lines is something that secretly every one of us who likes making sawdust has givin thought to doing, because we would only want to do it once, would do it only for our own gratification and not to try to 'cash in on a trend', and to keep it forever. I've spent more time writing the first sentence here than I need to spend looking at those pics, but the idea of building from scratch , a one-off, is how all the iconic 'clip-ons' we spend our SS checks (you young-'ns wouldn't understand) started out, so I salute the builder for his efforts. Since none of us seem to have a marketing scheme as the end result of our attempts to revive our chosen projects, this build certainly shows some real flaws, but still, from the outside, it looks good. If I'm blessed with enough years I will do the same, ie, a frame up new/old, shooting for the classic lines, but using techniques that might eliminate that black moldy powder that seems to have been an integral part of all our present stresses. That's my thoughts on snow cones.

We don't have a problem with doing retro builds. Not at all. There is something about previous eras that is intriguing to humans (after an appropriate period of time has passed). We only have a problem with things done poorly, as this trailer seems to be. Still, if someone understands what it is, what it isn't and is willing to pay for it, more power to him.
