Hiya all,
My guy and I just brought our wood-rotted gal home from New York (we live in Maine). It's our first camper/motorhome purchase, but we have big plans for more...once we try our hand(s) at this lil lady. She's a Shasta camper on a Ford E-300 chassis and, well, certainly needs some work We've nicknamed her the 'Dreamcrusher'...lovingly, of course.
Here are some specifics:
- Ford Econoline: ~69,000 miles, V8, C4
- Shasta camper: propane heat/hot water, wet bath with shower and electric toilet, og Coleman stove.
The camper portion is in...disrepair. In fact, the whole thing is. The PO was some sort of motorhome Picasso and chopped a bit of an ear here, placed an eye there, you get the picture. There is wood rot throughout, though most of the frame is salvageable. As of now, my guy is working diligently on the engine/drive train portion (he's a diesel tech by trade) and the exterior (roof leaks, lights, missing propane door) and I am handling the camper interior (I'm a seamstress by trade).
Anyhow! It's so amazing that you all are here (I followed you from the old Shasta board) and just reading through all of the posts to get us started have been an enormous help. I plan to post the camper-portion repairs and restorations in the boards as I'm looking at gutting about half of it. I also have the original documents, including the original appliance manuals, so I can scan those in if anyone is interested. I know these Shasta motorhomes are an acquired taste but she's already part of the family.
Great to be here and meet all of you! If anyone ever spies a trailer they'd like us to take a look at in Maine, let us know - we'll strap in the pup and make a day out of it!

Oh! I know this is technically a trailer forum, so if there is a better place to post about these Shasta motorhomes, let me know. I figured since I was only going to be working on/posting about the camper portion, this would the best place to be. This was a compromise between us (I wanted a trailer, he wanted a van), so future additions will *fingers crossed* be strictly trailers.
