Saw this cool shaped rear end today while on my way to do an estimate. I stopped to check it out and take a couple photos. The badge said it is a El Rancho Rae. It looked like it had been used lately because it had a current license plate and registration sticker. Anyone ever seen one like this before?? Cheers

Wow! It's amazing. My wife calls it a QuirkCamper.
It looks mid 60s to me, but I'm no expert.
Thanks for sharing it.

One of a kind so far in my book. Mid 60s here, too.

Way too cool!!! It's freeking awesome!!!!! Love the front too. Man I wish I could find just one cool one like that. Value? Priceless!!
Stop by and leave a note telling them to loose the walmart rims and get the ones from VTS with some moons PLEASE!! The kids must love that bunk bed up stairs!!
Tell them to ditch the hitch on back too before they ruin it trying to tow something on the back. It's not built for that. soup

You know, there is a story about the El Rae campers told by the owners daughter about 2 trailers that were experimental - customized. Both trailers were stolen from the manufacturing lot. The owner located one of the two but not the other. I just wonder....could this possibly be the second experimental trailer? I'm not being accusatory - just really curious as I've never seen anything like this and it looks original!

It does look like an experiment... I'd rather not lose the space with the rear cut out. I think they very well may have "passed" on this design. Very interesting.

My Westerner had a hitch on the back for towing a 12 foot fishing boat. The owner had a truckers license and was certified for doubles so it was perfectly legal. He made hundreds of trips over the mountain to the lakes and river over the years.

I guess that a bare 12 foot Jon boat wouldn't be too much weight. Just don't go towing a 25 foot Bayliner around with the camper in the middle. I've got doubles and triples endorsement on my CDL too but I still wouldn't do that to that super cool trailer. Fishing and camping. That's what cabin cruisers, boat rentals and house boats are for. Or this!

The people I just finished working for on the road trip have one of these. Exact same trailer. It's raw fiberglass though. Looks like it has never been painted or gel coated. I forgot to take a photo dang it.
