Cool rear Window, newer eyebrow: I love that rear window. But I hate those brows. I took the same kind off of the 57 Shasta and replaced them with the real thing as I have been collecting them for a long time now. You can even buy them brand new now. Mobil What is your source for brows that look like the originals? The one VTS sells are almost a perfect match, BUT they're painted on the outside so you'll have to strip it off.

Yep and your local RV Parts dept can order the one's that have the little ridge on the round corners and they are not painted. Let me see if I have a photo as I have only had to buy one in recent years. I put it on the rear window of the 57 Shasta but shortly after that is when my computer HD crashed and I had not backed all that up yet so I lost most of it. I get mine at "Bob's RV" in Hemet, Ca. He's down the street from Hemet Valley RV and Siding. I can also get them at Hemet Trailer Supply in Hemet, CA. LOL seems a lot of my dealers including my Harbor Freight are all in Hemet. I even get some of my flooring supplies in Hemet.

I just found the ones that look like the origionals in the parts department of vintagecampers.com. They have the ones that are unpainted aluminum. Vintagetrailers.com has origional looking ones, but they are painted white and you have to strip them.

okay we may now return to the intended purpose of this thread. Thank you. I got my drip caps from www.rvshop.com/search.asp?keyword=drip+cap&search=GO and they are the rounded corners....I was hoping there was an unpainted source for the hehr style. guess not.

Well we kinda ran out of bondo answers and I have no idea how we got on to brows but as I said most RV dealers can order the chinsey kind with the wrinkle in the round part of the corner but the paint on the VTS ones should come off really easy I would think. Anyone have any experience with this?

Anyone have any experience with this? Yup, I bought all mine from VTS and stripped the paint using their "special" paint stripper. Either the paint is the toughest paint on the planet or their stripper sucks. The person who makes them for VTS just uses skin so the paint is the white baked on finish, on the one side. The hardest part of stripping them is the cleaning out the little rain gutter.

Oh and the lengths aren't exactly the same as the originals,, especially over the dinette windows and the door.

Next time I'm in Hemet I will see if I can find the source and will take some photos of what is available. In the mean time I'll keep stripping the trailers I can't or don't want to restore... They were still using those brows all the way into the 70s and early 80s. My mobile home has a few on it and it's an 86....
Anything more on Bondo?

Never mind.... Just learned that they are. . Still learning about everything. But what is the difference between the drip rail and drip cap? Are they used for the same purpose? Is one considered more vintage than the other?
