Hey guys! After owning this little beauty for two years, I'm ready to get er' going. I've never taken on a project like this before - but have access to all tools and am eager to get going. I'm looking for some guidance as to the order of how to do things - I imagine it would be the framing or the flooring. Would be very appreciative of any help/suggestions. Thanks in advance! Thanks for the pics. Others will chime in, I’m sure, but don’t do another thing until you:
- Sort and catalog everything you have removed from the trailer. You will need those things for reference down the line.
- Although I’ve seen much more/worse rot, you are going to have to remove the skins as I’m pretty sure these were built similarly to most of the stick built trailers of the time. this can be done section by section, or all at once.
- Check into Mobiltec’s videos or his class, and get vikx’s book on repairing vintage trailers. (Maybe I should have said that first!). Also look at John Palmer’s posts, he’s another expert.
