I have what I think is a 1964 Shasta SC that I am starting a frame off restore. I am working on sanding and painting the trailer, and am about to start on the new floor. I am going to use 3/4" Advantech subfloor as this material is very sturdy and will not delaminate when it gets wet (I saw an experiment somewhere where someone put a sheet of it in a lake for 6 months and it was perfectly good to use), and it is very rot-resistant.
I am trying to decide if I should undercoat the bottom with a rubberized undercoating or something. I've seen conflicting opinions on this since some are all for it, but others say it's not a good idea because the moisture/condensation can get trapped in the floor and rot it out. Others say it depends on where you live- I'm in VA, and we get some heavy rains every now and then.
I am leaning towards not undercoating since I plan to keep it sheltered when I am not using it. I wanted to get some expert opinions on this before I proceed. Thanks!

It sounds as tho the Advantech subfloor won't need and undercoating.
That said, I like to at least paint the underside to keep dirt and debris at bay. I don't like to do the open joists; let them breathe.
You can always paint the Advantech later if you think it needs it.

I also don't see the need to seal the underside completely.
A leak developing up high on the camper in the future is more of a concern than rot below.
