Not sure where is the best place to post this. I am looking for a few parts for my 63 Deluxe Airflyte. Not sure of where to find these parts and the prices I should expect to pay. Would like a fridge, but no plans on using it but mine is missing. I am also considering just making it a cabinet which means I am looking for a chevron handle and two hinges and the inside catch. I also need the glass disk shade that goes over the table under the cabinet. (Not interested in making a plastic one which I read about on this site). I used to restore antique light fixtures and know I can find one eventually that will fit. I also need the front right Shasta emblem in decent shape. What years is the emblem the identical? Thanks in advance

Not sure what the glass disk shade is... can you post a photo of the actual fixture? Is this the grapevine globe or something else?
Places like The Restore, Habitat for Humanity and other "junk" stores are full of finds. They have bins of hinges and handles, etc. You also might think up a unique handle for the fridge cabinet. The idea of a fridge (unless just a new dorm unit to fill the hole) is not in the cards. Most don't work and they are HEAVY. Not to mention they won't fit thru the door...
Have fun on your hunt!

Thanks Vikx for the response. I've seen this light on a few Shastas. flic.kr/p/2pwuGBx. Not sure why the picture isn't showing. I've spent over an hour trying. If I can't find a disc shade through a trailer site which is likely, I will try salvage yards and many hours on Ebay. Since fitting a fridge through the door is out I either need to make it look like an old ice box or exact matching cabinet door to the others. I deal in old house hardware, so I've seen many options, but I can only see those two mentioned options and finding the original exact matching hardware seems to be the easiest. Maybe the front 19 3/4" or less of an original refrigerator. I've seen many Shasta emblems, but all have been sold or are too pitted. Seems like the going rate is $70 to $90 if you can find one. Also am wondering if there are any suggestions to getting an extension cord and TV cable into the rear bed area. My floor seems solid, and it seems my only option is to drill through the soundboard and floor of the rear storage. I hate putting holes in good wood. I have shore power, but prefer to use it just for lights.

If you can't find the correct disk for your lamp, the pre 1965 (non-Deluxe) Airflyte's used these floral and berry shades over the dinette and kitchenette. They fit into a standard 3 1/4" fitter and are often available on Ebay. I just bought this one for $12 so I have a spare in case one breaks when travelling.

Thanks, but I have to go original as possible. I know I can find a disk to go under it. I even gave a bunch to the salvage yard a few years ago that had a mid-century design. I might even have one which would take many hours to find without a guarantee of it existing. Most likely none will be an exact match to the original.

I haven't seen that light fixture before. (The link did fine.) I agree that you can make or find a disk that will work and look vintage. If you see one at a rally, at least you'll know what it looked like.

i noticed that if the picture in flickr isnt made public in flickr it will only show a link Thanks for the advice. I thought it was made public. I went to flickr and it seems pubic, but just a link again. Maybe it appears public but isn't. The flickr site surely doesn't seem user friendly for my level. flic.kr/p/2pwuGBx.

You may already do all of this and maybe its just not working but im just going to share what i do on the slight chance it will work for you, just to cover all our bases, when i click on a photo to send, 20240206_175414 by Jesse Kunda, on Flickr this screen comes up, 20240206_175424 by Jesse Kunda, on Flickr then i scrolled down to the bottom and clicked on public, i only had to do this once, never again. scroll back up to the photo.... Screenshot_20240206_173644_Photo Editor by Jesse Kunda, on Flickr then i click the share arrow to bring up this window, 20240206_174654~2 by Jesse Kunda, on Flickr then i click on this lick and it goes blue, 20240206_174447 by Jesse Kunda, on Flickr then i hit control c, switch back to the forum and in the bbcode tab i hit control v 20240206_174724~2 by Jesse Kunda, on Flickr like i said, if you already do all this then just ignore it, i looked into my settings and everything said it was public but i had to hit that button scrolled down below the selected pic in order for it to appear.

Thanks for the effort, but still no better luck. Not sure why they can't create an easier way. If only I had kids.

My floor seems solid, and it seems my only option is to drill through the soundboard and floor of the rear storage. I hate putting holes in good wood. I have shore power, but prefer to use it just for lights. Greg, If the fridge isn't in the trailer, then somehow they got it out of the trailer. That was my thinking. If you have a Marvel Fridge, the door comes off. My Rod and Reel was missing the fridge, so I figured if someone got it out, then I could get one in. We had to take the door and hinges off and turn it on it's side and slide it in. It took three of us... They are HEAVY as Vix stated. The door way wasn't square. The top half was narrower than the bottom half. That's why we had to turn it on its side. We had an 1/8 of an inch on each side to make it work. Once inside the trailer, I let it sit for a week before starting up and it works fine, now. As for the light fixture, in this business, sometimes you need to comprimise on what you want and what you can get. For example, if you are looking for a replacement fridge that was the original model fridge, they are made of unobtainium and very rare. That's one reason people put in the newer models. For your light fixture, you might just have to find a vintage fixture that isn't the same as original, but often found in other vintage trailers. Try searching ebay for a flush mount vintage cieling lamp/light or "Vintage Art Deco MCM Milk Glass Ceiling Coin Light Fixture Flush Mount Chrome" or use some of those words together in your search. I found one for what I thought was high priced at $89 plus shipping on ebay, but it was in nice condition. I found this on a Google search for $31.77 brand new. Made by Nuvo lighting. Always check the diameter. Some look like small bathroom fixtures. Rod

Rod, Thanks for taking the time to respond. The previous owner said the ref was either in his basement or at the dump. He seemed to be honest and didn't mention cutting it in half to get it out. I was thinking of dismantling the doorway and fridge as a possibility or waiting very patiently till I address an interior panel replacement for access. I'm in no hurry to find a fridge and only want one to complete my trailer and have no plans to need it for anything but warm storage and I've seen many in existing trailers, so I do have at least a .000001% chance of finding one. I will build a matching cabinet door before I would install a different model. On the light, I have lots of experience with vintage and antique light fixtures and since I have the main part, I can make it work. I already own many vintage light fixtures, but I'm a stickler for 100% original parts if possible.

Hi Greg,
It looks to me like your trailer never had a fridge as there are no sidewall vents on the curb side. Ice boxes were standard issue on these trailers and the propane fridge was an optional extra.

Thanks for pointing that out. I thought they were also called fridges. Never thought it had propane or electric. I just have the drain line, no propane line visible. I believe it was just an ice box fridge that didn't need vents. Is an "icebox" easier to find? Is an icebox smaller to fit through the door and are they lighter? Trailers with vents either had an original optional propane refrigerator or added vents is what I'm now gathering. I am looking for an original 1963 icebox, not a refrigerator.

Shasta used various appliance suppliers for their trailers all the time. I have seen various models of both Princess and Holiday stoves in Airflytes, some with an oven thermostat and some without. Some had direct vent heaters beside the entrance door and some had them in the floor. Mostly I remember seeing the Morphy Richards Astral fridge with the rounded door or a squared off aluminum framed icebox door. They often come up for sale if you keep an eye out for them. There is one for sale right now on Kijiji in Edmonton Alberta that is the same size my original fridge was and it's only 18" deep so it will fit sideways through the door.. www.kijiji.ca/v-fishing-camping-outdoor/edmonton/vintage-rv-icebox/1668781730
