Hello everyone, My name is Jesse kunda. I just came in last night. I've got a 1954 Aljoa that I inadvertently started a restoration on about three years ago. Thanks for letting me in. I'm kinda old school, meaning I missed the boat on computers and all the new tech way of social networking, I really don't have any clue on how to use these forums, if anyone could lend a hand and help me Navigate on how to post my story and years of pictures and all my knowledge that may be able to help anyone else, I'd be so grateful.

Hi Jesse, Welcome to our little slice of the internet. I can't really help you with learning how to use a computer and these forums but we do have tutorials on this forum on how to post photos. The link is on every forum thread in here. I did a 1954 Aljoa and would be happy to share and exchange photos with you. If you know how to use email that would be a good way until you figure out the photo posting here. My email is mobiltec@gmail.com I also have hundreds of build videos on my website. www.cannedhamtrailers.comHere's just a couple of build photos of the 54 Aljoa I did.

Thanks guys, I guess to start off with, is there a difference between a post and a thread, sounds like there's a tutorial I need to read.

Hi Jesse and Welcome! I undertstand the confusion. A thread is a topic that you start. In this case, you started a thread of introduction. What you typed was your post. Any time you type something and click the create post "button" at the bottom right, you just created a post. When you ask a question or introduce yourself like you just did, that started a thread. In order to post pictures, that's a little more involved. You will have to first open a free acount at www.flickr.com/. Find the register button on the home page. Once registered, you will have to move them (upload them) to the website. Here is a thread on how to post after you register your account. pictures. vintagetrailertalk.freeforums.net/thread/7276/add-photos-hosted-flickr-tutoria click on the link to your left. If posting pix is too difficult, you can still post your questions on the site. The site is divided into different sections. Find the one that applies to your topic so you can start a new thread. You can also learn a lot by just going through the website clicking on different area of the forum and see what's in there. You can read the topics folks have posted about and click on the the title of the thread and it will get you to the thread. Like Vix, said, you already made it through your first post, so you are on your way. Cheers, Rod

Thanks for all your help I'll get started on getting something posted today, thanks to your help. I do actually have one more quick like question, is there a way to message a specific member?, or do you just go in to a thread and do this quick reply here, which I haven't even seen until now. Y'all would laugh if I told I've already spent hours just trying to figure out how to talk with someone, I must've written something out several times and not know how to send it and hit create message and start all over again.

Hey Jesse,
Your perservereance is appreciated!
To message, you can click on the screen name to the far left of that persons post. The private message window should pop up. Type in your message and click on send. As a new member, you might not be able to do that. Vikx can confirm.
A veteran member can PM you with no problem. If you can't send PM's, I don't see why you couldn't just ask for a member to PM you in a post in your thread.

PMs are restricted to staff for new members. The reason for this is scammers coming in and PMing all members with links or ads. Once you reach 15 posts, you can PM other members.

Heay, sorry to be a bother, I've spent the last five hours trying to get a thread going, I'm at my wits end here. I've read the tutorial on how to get photos uploaded to Flickr, although it's not the same as doing it from an android device, I've written and rewritten a new thread like ten times because it keeps disappearing when I go back and forth trying to figure out how to bring the photos over here. If there's anyone out there that can walk me through the process on an android phone I would be more than appreciative, more than you can possibly believe. And maybe all I need to know is that it's not possible from Android and I need to get a computer. I've gotten as far as being able to type but cant put a photo here. I see there is a desktop and mobile version, which is how I lost a few threads going back and forth trying to figure out the bb code, apparently on the mobile version there's no option to bring over a photo? Again, sorry for the bother, and thanks to anyone willing to help.

Welcome, I am so glad you are here as I hate to be the only technologically challenged one here. My phone still flips, so you aren't the furthest one behind here. It can be very frustrating, but eventually it gets easier. Make sure you post the photo URL in your message and not in the attach photo box when you get flicker together.

Hey thanks bud, so just to be clear, as I'm writing, just insert the link right in-between sentences and the photo should pop up when the thread gets posted. Or it puts a blue link there that you tap on. I can't tell you how infuriating and anxious and nerve-wracking it got for me today. It's like insanity doing the same thing over and over not knowing how or why but hoping you're going to figure it out. I totally missed out on computer skills when they came to schools, missed the boat on that one. KIMG5159 by Jesse Kunda, on Flickr

I'm the blind leading the blind. I believe the photos will pop up when you post the message with your link between sentences. You can always do test posts. We didn't have computer classes in school in Silicon Valley, but it was the 70's. I never would have taken them if they weren't required as I have no interest in electronics.

Shouts of joy just rang out in my home! i just figured out how to post a picture! actually it was daughter who came to my aid after hearing my cries of frustration that escalated into anger that was quickly spiraling into madness. OK, so, about 4 years ago i started my journey to finding my very own canned ham, for some reason i have always had a special spot for these in my heart, probably because of the early mickey mouse cartoons and maybe just the midcentury appeal that i grew up with, i was born in the wrong decade. my family did a lot of camping when i was younger so i naturally wanted to share those experiences with my own posterity. however ,my wife was not a happy camper so we just didnt. but getting a camper was my way of making this happen. but i, of course had to have something old and vintage, remember, born in the wrong decade. unfortunately it has now been 4 years, my daughter is now 18 and graduating this year and i only have two years left with my son, and the trailer is only now nearing completion. Screenshot_20190705-141937 by Jesse Kunda, on Flickr this was the first image i saw of her. i thiought she was looked clean and straight and had great possibilities, it was advertised that the birch paneling was in very good condition and i thought all id have to do was give her a good cleaning and go right into using it. KIMG5894 by Jesse Kunda, on Flickr KIMG5896 by Jesse Kunda, on Flickr KIMG5926 by Jesse Kunda, on Flickr KIMG5895 by Jesse Kunda, on Flickr supposedly the owner had bought it in the 50's for a hunting cabin to place on his ranch in very rural montana and its been there since. the interior was in very good shape with slight water damage in the usual areas such as uner the windows where condensation sits at the sills. the worst part of the farmers diy was istalling a propane furnace ito the right side and hacking the cabinetry to make it fit. it wasnt until i actually got home that i saw without my buyers eyes the true extent of the damge, kinda like buying a truck or a house that you really want, you just cant see the flaws. what the people selling it to me failed to disclose was just how much the mice had been in and destroyed, and after driving 6 hours i really didnt want to go home empty handed, plus, im a builder and a carpenter and can fix just about anything. one of the first things i started to notice was these littlle "seed pods?" were everywhere, en masse. if anyone knows just what let me kmow. KIMG6066 by Jesse Kunda, on Flickr then i was noticing the "shadows" of where the literal piles of excrement were stacked KIMG5910 by Jesse Kunda, on Flickr KIMG5908 by Jesse Kunda, on Flickr it was when i saw that the mice were into the ceiling i kinda put 2 and 2 together and realised that the sound that the ceiling was making everytime i pounded on it, it was the sound of all the little seed pods and mouse poops rattling around up there. i then came to the realisation that i was going to have to tear it apart. after studing the construction i realised that these are built opposite of house construction. so out came the windows, then the skin then i could see just what was in the ceiling. KIMG6061 by Jesse Kunda, on Flickr KIMG6062 by Jesse Kunda, on Flickr KIMG6058 by Jesse Kunda, on Flickr about ten gallons of this stuff, poops, crusty insulation and yeah gross. i'll get into the rot next
