Hello! I'm new to the forum and we just bought a 1978 Sportsman Highlander in original, but well-loved condition. I was trying to make a repair to the right rear tail light but when I tightened the screw for the ground wire, the plastic literally crumbled underneath it! These are the square-ish Dietz lights they used in the late 1970s and they don't seem to exist anywhere. Does anybody know of a source of replacements? I've also considered modifying the body to accept the old round style. Mike

If you have all of the pieces ,you can super glue them together.
Use the thin c/a glue and don’t use the kicker stuff.
Make sure you clean all of the surfaces and slightly sand the surface of the cracks.
After the glue dries them you can wet sand the plastic lens and polish the outside of the lens .
The key is to go light with the glue.

“…the plastic literally crumbled underneath it!“
There is nothing to lose trying glue but it sounds like the plastic is too far gone.
