Hello Everyone, Hopefully an easy 2 questions to answer: - How many drains will my fresh water system need?
- Are check valves required?
There are two drains before the water pump per the diagram:
The item on the right in the first picture below, appears to be a threaded 1/2 inch male plug that was in the bottom of the tank and was accessed through a cut out in the metal under layer; second picture below:
The item on the left in the picture shown above and below again , sorry for the redundancy, is the drain coming from the street side of the trailer before the plumbing from the tank connects with the water pump, shore water intake and then feeds the trailer.
Question 1, concerns the drain on the street side? Do I need it or can it be skipped? I will install drains at the tank and at the front of the trailer ( I left out the drain that is present at the front of the trailer after the pump and shore lines connect in my diagram). Q2 is just: are the check valves required and where do the go? After leaving the fresh water tank? After exiting shore water entry and exiting the water pump? How many do I need? Exited to say I am buying parts and supplies for the rebuild, restore and remodel. This post will help clarify these important parts questions. Thanks in advance for sage replies Shasta Dave and Moby Dick

There should be a check valve at the city water inlet to prevent pumping tank water out the inlet. Not sure what the "one way" valve is after the pump but am assuming that is also a check valve? Most pumps have a built in check valve to keep city water from running thru the pump. If you use a water regulator of 45 PSI at the city inlet, the pump should be fine.
The fresh water tank should have a drain which is already there. There should be two low point drains to drain and winterize the system. (guessing the street side drain was to drain the system?) I would leave it if the water line is a long run. The hot water tank should also be drained; easiest if you remove the lower plug in the tank itself.
