The old gutter rail that came off of my 1966 Shasta is 3/4" ..........and is in pretty bad shape. As I replaced the back skin of the old trailer today, I noticed that I missed on one side, and cut the overlap a little too long. Here's my question........as I probably need to replace all of the gutter trim anyway, does anyone make this stuff in a slightly larger width? It would fix this one problem for me........if wider trim actually exists. I am lazy in this cold weather.......thanks for any tips.

The J rail can be straightened with a little finesse. We use 2" wide jaw sheet metal vise grips and pieces of wood with a rubber hammer. It's not hard at all... a round punch helps flatten the screw holes and curl the edge.
As far as the metal edge, it needs to be trimmed back. The whole point of the putty and J rail is to seal that area. If the edge is exposed, it isn't sealed. Sorry, but I don't think they make wider J rail. You might look at modern RV trim; could be something you would be happy with...

Thanks vikx.........I found this stuff hard to cut when I got it on the trailer today.......and since the trailer isn't exactly square in any fashion, I thought attaching it and then cutting it made sense........but it was hard to get right. I can still fix it, but was hoping to maybe cheat a little with some wider trim perhaps. Do you have a link for Modern Rv Trim? I am cruising the interwebs as we speak looking for something similar that might work.......
Thanks!!

Moses the J Rail is available from So Cal Teardrops in 8 foot sections which is easier to handle anyhow. They ship. There is a link on my website in the Link Section.

Most RV shops have catalogs of what type of trim is available today. They changed a lot in the last few years, some of the old styles aren't available.
If you can peel the metal out from the body, a multi tool might trim it in tight areas. Very hard to trim metal on the trailer, but you can do it. A snip at a time...
