New here. What a great site! Been looking for the VIN on our '58 Aljo. Only thing so far is this, located on drivers side tongue, on top near coupler. Never seen a VIN with a 1/2 in it before?
any thoughts much appreciated

I doubt this is the vin. It looks like a manufacturer number of the coupler mechanism.
On my 56 Aljo, the VIN was actually located on the top of the jack plate which I don't think is legal, since it's so easy to mix up with the other #s. Still, that's where it was...
6157002958 I'm guessing the 6 denotes the year, 15 the length, possibly 7' wide with a serial # 2958.

thanks much, vikx. Will keep looking! Great to hear you have a 56, and that VIN location anomalies abound.

Cee, it's certainly possible that IS the VIN... so hard to tell on an Aljo. It could be a 57, 16 1/2 long (tho it looks shorter in the photo) etc, etc... or 7x16 1/2, 1958, and the serial.
I've never seen the 1/2 on any part number or VIN.
