Thanks for sharing the retro floor patterns. My dad created his own design with floor tile when he finished the basement back in 1960. Seriously thinking of removing the laminate floor in our Compact and replacing it with one of these retro floor designs if I can find the tile.

Hi, From a vintage trailer guy located in Santa Ana, CA. It's good to see lots of activity here.

Really a cool vintage look.
The way I see the pattern photos is that each photo is about "eight to nine tiles wide", and would work in a large 10' by 12' room. Even if you cut the currently available 12" tiles down to the original 9" size, I doubt that you would be able to get the same pattern look in the small space we have to work with in a travel trailer with a 9" tile size.
For some reason I think I remember that the old tiles "also came in" a small 6" by 6" size back in the day? Using a (custom cut) 6" by 6" tile might give you the detail needed to pull off one of these patterns?
Just thinking.

Can one use a table saw to cut VCT? Will it give a clean enough edge?

I see them as 9 patch quilt patterns, but that's just the way I think. My plans are to cut my 12" tiles into 6" or 4". But I'm not quite ready to cross that bridge.

Coloradoan it's really easy to cut them with a utility knife, though if you are cutting down a lot of them to a specific size then I would think a blade that you would use for cutting think sheets of plywood would work fine, or a tile saw.
Suzie Q and others thinking about cutting smaller than 6"...that's a lot of small tiles, and they may actually have an easier time popping off....so make sure the surface is completely flat and clean before applying the glue.
