I have been searching for a 60,s, 13 foot Scotty camper to do a frame up rebuild for my winter project, but I'm having no success. My question is, is there a site that I could go to that has templates for the side walls and the frame specs. that I could purchase to do an original build. I am a retired mechanic with years of shop and field experience in fabricating.
I have found a couple that would be perfect for a frame up rebuild but seems no matter the condition the owners still won't sell. To much of an attachment and sentimental feeling I suppose.
So, if anyone may know of any drawing templates out there I would love to get my hands on them.

I have had contact with them and as an organization they do not sanction what I want to do and would not help me. I guess I might have to do a cardboard template from someone else Scotty and look for a frame that I can detail its specs. But I enjoy the hunt and will keep trying. Thanks for the reply

When you get your Scotty, copy what's there. The original walls and skin should provide templates.I don't know why Scotty people won't help you but keep in mind these trailers were designed with a certain goal in mind. (trailer should hold together, cabinets add strength and square the walls, attachments secure) If you plan on changing the floor plan and removing cabinetry, a Scotty would not work very well. The frame is particularly weak and tends to be rusted thru.
For a frame up build, try to find a sturdy frame and then design your own. Good luck!

I very much appreciate your honest advice and will certainly maintain a high quality build. Thanks

I'm kinda confused by your post, but are you looking to rebuild one or build a replica from scratch? I don't remember where it was on the web, but someone built one from scratch and it was amazing. I think they resided in Alaska.

You can design your own camper for any frame you have. Instead of cardboard, use sheets of cheap Luan plywood taped together. If you have the floor space, a full size template makes it easy to build.
I've been confused about the plywood construction of Scottys. I prefer 2x walls because you can fit 3/4 plywood to hold lights with room for wiring in the walls.

I own 2 Scotty's. I found mine just driving around and knocking on a door and asking if it's for sale. I have seen them for sale on Craigslist and vintage campers for sale sites. Sometimes you have to travel to get one. Don't just check your local Craigslist but check other states near you. Good luck with your search
