Got tired of the 55 year old foam in my home office, so I got a free cycled, lightly used ikea twin mattress and cut it down to fit. Probably going to need to modify the covers, but still better than the foam dust I was getting everywhere with the old stuff.

Dan,
Just saw this. Been away for a while. So, any progress? Did you keep the old covers or make new ones?
Cheers,
Rod

It was my home office until my company closed our location and the hustle of my new job has me neglecting projects. We will probably take a big trip in the spring so I'll need to figure this out then.

Hi Friends,
This idea deserves an award. Foam prices are astronomical. I went to the IKEA website and found a foam mattress for $90. Even if you got two of them and spent $200 for them, you would save hundreds of dollars.I bought a foam folding couch/futon off Craigslist a few years ago for my Rod and Reel and picked it up for $35. It was lightly used mainly as a couch for little kids. No food stains, either. It easily could have been cut up for bench cushions.
Cheers,
Rod

I used a memory foam on our front dinette seats and I can’t stand it. It sinks all the way down and is not comfortable at all for setting or as a bed.
