My Airflyte table is too heavy, its really hard for me to put it up on the wall. It was missing the original brackets to hold it to the wall so I bought this one from VTS. You have to hold the table up on an angle then lower it down all while in the bracket to get it in place correctly. But me being 4"11" and having to lift the front of it up to my head while pushing back in the bracket it quite the task. There is wood about 2" in a square shape connected on the bottom of the table, it looks original. Do you think I could remove it? to get some weight off it Bracket I bought www.vintagetrailersupply.com/Table-Wall-Mount-p/vts-516.htmI stole these photos from the internet, I believe they are Ten , hope you dont mind. It shows the 2" wood all the way around that I would like to remove My bracket is not attached to the wood like this one, mine is on the back of the table edge

Is that the original table? The one in Hamlet isn’t a solid piece of plywood like yours, and is very manageable weight wise. Maybe someone else out there will chime in.

I think the square frame is to keep the table from flexing and cracking the Formica. Not sure 4 sticks is going to lighten the table much, maybe a couple of pounds?

Yep seems like those tables are original to the Airflyte. I thought it was strange because the compacts table is so light. I had to rebuild mine so I know exactly what you mean when you said it isnt a solid piece of wood. I have thought about rebuilding it the same way as the compacts table. I was just trying to modify the one I have before I went that route.

You could make a whole new table out of modern materials to lighten it up. Store the original of course.

I agree, 1Xs were probably added to help keep the table top flat. Scotty's single sheet of plywood has warped over time and I'm going to just replace it because I would have a scrape-the-knees problem if I tried that solution.
