Thanks, Larry! I need to go see if somebody already started a thread where they compare different GPS tracking devices.

Thanks. Good ideas there. I’m always too trusting. Funny thing, I was just at that wall mart parking lot in mesquite a few weeks ago. It’s a great area there where Nevada, Utah and Arizona all come together.

Good video Larry!
Another tip: remove one wheel and be sure the spare is in the vehicle or locked up inside. My spare is on an inside mount in the cargo trailer. I had a 2 horse trailer stolen off a fairgrounds years ago, thru a manned check point. If they want the trailer, they will get it...

Insurance is a must if you're going to leave a vintage camper unattended.
My father-in-law...one of the nicest people I know...towed his camper down to the local supermarket last week. He was selling it and thought leaving it on a busy corner with a For Sale sign was a wise move. Since he never thinks poorly of his fellow man, he left it all day. Within hours the camper was gone. Stolen by two men who just backed up, casually hooked up, and drove away.
How do we know it was two men? The police parked across the street watched them do it. They were so slow and easy going the police thought nothing of it.

Graet ideas. I've already done some of them.
One simple thing that I think I learned here on VTT...I applied big (stick on) registration numbers on the roof of the camper that can't be seen at ground level, but would be easy to see from a plane, drone or helicopter used by law enforcement. Really too bad we have to worry about such things when all we really want is to enjoy some peace and quiet in the outdoors.

Sad isn't it. In the early 1990's my brother built a home made utility trailer in about a week and let me use take it from North Carolina to Florida. We were preparing to change duty stations, going oversees for our next duty station I still had a bedroom suit my dad had built for me in North Carolina and wanted to take it with me. We parked the trailer at a friends house with the hitch ball lock in place. It didn't stop the thief. They caught the guy, found our tag in his truck, but never found the trailer. utility Trailer only used once! Needless to say I'm glad this subject was brought up so I can make sure it gets added to my to do list......... Debra

I ordered a wheel lock. It fits nicely. Trimax TCL65 Wheel Chock Lock $51 on Amazon

I have seen the last one and I am impressed but still a little skeptical. But I could still steal that trailer using the tow chains. Easy enough to fix but they totally gloss over that part.

$230 is serious money.

We use a combination of hitch lock and boot. Hadn’t thought about the chains, maybe we’ll switch out the lock for the one above. Thanks, everyone!

They now use a rig that will hook over the frame rails and under the tongue with a coupler out in front of the original. It takes about 15 to 30 seconds to install and they have a hitch that will tow the trailer away. All that proves is if the want it it will be gone. Probably the best thing to use would be two wheel lock chocks at least they are harder to defeat.

I don't remember where I saw it and I may have even seen it here or posted it here once before. But it was a door size poster that you blue on to the front door and it looks like the door is open with nothing but a screen door and a HUGE UGLY DOG sitting on the other side of the screen looking out.
Bill's right. If they want it and it's alone, they will get it. Best to keep it within sight when in restaurants. Chain the axle to your driveway concrete when at home and take all the precautions you can when camping.
