I’m new to trailers. My dad is helping me. He’s restored many a motor home and classic car. So I have help. We picked this up and the owner said it’s from the 1930’s. A Sears kit teardrop trailer. But I can’t find a single thing about them. Any ideas?
Note: how do you add photos?

Go to the teardrop site of www.tnttt.com and poke around. You will likely get your answer there.

Looks like a "real" teardrop from way back when. Can't remember the name but it is SO COOL!

I was in California at a rally. There were 2 of these rare kit teardrops there. Grandfather and daughter were the owners. They were so much nicer than the modern ones. Just by details in the design.. You have a great find

I don't know the make or model but in the early 50s a friend of mine used one that belonged to his aunt. It had a feather bed mattress and it was extremely hot in the summer no insulation.

Make and model ..... The two that were at the Rally were listed as kit. The older man knew all about the Kit teardrops. He had an original outside connecting tent. Canvas was in great shape. Green color. there is a national club for them.Just the "Kit" ones. There was a man who also made a CLONE of one. He was near them. That fender,he made it a little longer and mounted a 5 gal water tank in the fender, yet outside the kitchen area. Screw in hand pump in top of the fender. Very cool, but not same quality of the original.

Sears used to sell kits to build about anything the even sold houses in kit form. My dad had a sears one wheel trailer from sears that had an ice box and stove plus space for a tent and blankets. It made many trips into northern Canada to areas beyond where electricity was available, we took coffee, salt, pepper, and flour as supplies everything else came off the land. Great times it is a shame that most people today never get to experience things such as that.
