We had to gut our vintage camper due to water damage. Does anyone know if we can replace the furniture with non- built in without compromising the strength of the camper walls? I'm guessing that the furniture screwed all the way around the walls and to the floor added much support?

Yeah it does hold things together. I would expect that many of the screws were installed from the outside.
Unfortunately by gutting the camper you've made your job much more difficult. I suggest watching videos on canned ham trailer website (sorry Larry, forgot the actual name of your site) Also check the links section for a book by Vicx who is a member here.

The cabinets and fixtures are what keeps the camper from falling apart, they are the main structure. Danny
