It's a Dexter axle - 4 inch drop - 77" hub face to hub face - got it here: sixrobblees.com$290 Thanks. How much did the full set up cost? It's valuable info for our members. Often a needed repair that goes undone. 10" brake assemblies were $69 each 10" 6 x 5.5 drums were $122 each Bearing kit - $44 U-bolt Kit - $34 I could have gone cheaper but I try to buy American these days and it's money well spent.

Wow x 2! I STOPPED and stared as I was scrolling down the page - for good reason.
Such a long road... I used a quote from you in my sig line. Now look at you.
What will you do with your time when you finish, LOL?
Amazing story of restoration.
Nice, Allan.

Thanks to all :-)
I'm coming up on three years of pretty consistent work come October. Can't wait for our first shake down cruise and then a trip up to Washington state for the Mount Baker Rally.
It's taken longer than I expected and been WAY more challenging than rehabbing my Aloha but a very fun project with sprinkles of that queasy feeling of how the hell is this thing ever going to go back together!

I love those hubcaps! Did they come with the trailer or do source to purchase them? My project trailer has the same wheels.

I got lucky and they came with the trailer. The wheels have a circle of big clips that hold them on.

It turns out the Holiday House is going to have one "legacy panel" piece of skin that I'll be reusing. Legacy panels happen when the place specializing in work on aluminum trailer skin botches their attempt to recreate the piece you need :-( so you end up using the old piece instead... The more I thought about it the more I'm OK with it - a nod to the past with a couple small character marks for authenticity. It will be painted after I get it stripped.

I guess my 65 Shasta is a total legend then.

I have never relied on what the little card that comes with a 7 pin plug says. They are all different depending on which Chinese company made them. So I determine which pins line up with the existing plug on the tow vehicle and use that info instead of the color coding provided. Electrical seems to be the hardest thing to deal with in trailers for most folks.

Okay, So, wait a minute. Do I sense a bit of sarcasm? Aren't you the guy who drags his Aloha down snowy roads gathering roostertails of snow as it freezes as it melts? Aren't you they guy who drags his Aloha down dirt roads for out in the boonies dry camping - a night time image comes to mind. So, is the Holiday House a Vintage Trailer Rally princess and will stick only to the black top? Cheers, Rod

It pains me to admit it - but guilty as charged :-)
The HH is going to be the pampered rally princess and only "camp" in locations you can reach on asphalt. The Aloha will continue to be the bad boy of the family and forever be covered in muck while it rambles along dirt roads.

Hey PT, Thanks for such great info and photos. We've been following your build! We're currently restoring a 1960 Holiday House in Anaheim, CA. So... many... questions.... haha Hopefully we can compare notes in person some day at a rally.
