Finally completed the rust removal from the frame and applied POR15. We had taken the trailer in for inspection and everything checked out just fine. The axle checked out great, too. Today we are starting to lay the treated plywood for the flooring.

Oh, I have frame envy! And my hubby keeps saying I really need to just take mine down to the frame so I can clean it up right! Ughh. If I only had the space.
Frame ENVY! It looks great!

Looks great! Glad the frame got a good bill of health.
One thing though... please, no treated lumber. It's been mentioned many times; you just don't want to use treated anywhere in your build, and that includes the new 'yella wood' stuff. Please do a little digging around our site for all the reasons to stay away from it.

We talked to a flooring guy here in town and he said that if treated flooring is used then place a sheet of non treated plywood on top of it, such as lauan and then there will be the tile flooring on top of that.

Update on the flooring...... We are going to exchange the treated 3/4 in plywood for the 'plytanium' wood from Lowes. I don't think we realized just how damn heavy that 3/4 in is! Not to mention we were not completely in the loop about the treated wood. Thank you everyone for the positive input! I spent all day sanding 14 sheets of birch plywood while my dad and gf worked on adding supports to the frame.

SuzieQ brought this topic a day or two ago. "Tongue Jacks - Reliable Brands".. VTS has'em.. It's nice to know that a real replacement can be had. I still have the original gear on mine, but the wheel is gone.. It looks like you can get some time out of the side mount rig, but I imagine you might have a box or two comming from VTS in the future.. I say put a new one on your wish list...

Well I was really hoping that I would be posting a pic with a laid floor. . This process was much slower than anticipated. So all the framing was done inside the trailer to support the floor. The two long pieces of wood going down the middle were salvaged from the original camper. The wood was fir and it had held up fantastically over the years so we decided to clean it up and paint over it with exterior paint, as we did with all the wood supports. This weekend was very tedious work and I was a little disappointed we didn't get further. It will be a couple of weekends until we can finish the floor (due to my dad's schedule) but will be able to work on some projects until then. The one I am most anxious about starting is the shellac. I have read some mixed opinions about shellacking the panels pre-install and concerns with it cracking in the curvatures. Originally my Miss Daisy was very boxy but we are changing her structure to have more curves, similar to the Airflyte, which I'm unsure of how to proceed with the panels. Well, enough for now. Thank you everyone for your knowledge and support!

I just don't like the balance and *feel* of the fold up jacks. I like the tripod effect with the jack in the middle of the tongue...
