Doors are easy to make; no worries there. The dark stain isn't original, so you may have to replace a lot of panels...

Thanks -
I may wander out there next week and take a closer look. It could be a fun-ish way to spend hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of hours getting her back in shape :-).
So it looks like there is a propane refrigerator in this one? Vikx - I recall you saying they are impossible to repair if broken. Are most of them broken and just used as ice boxes or are a decent percentage of them still functioning in your experience?

In interior pic Seems to be a vent on top of the cabinet where the Build out for upper outside vent normally is

Id hit him low with $700 offer and maybe he’d meet you at 850. I made a door doing the pizza cutter method and a homemade break. You could build the door for $50 but the handle will be the big money item. Maybe he still has it.

Weird yours in not there ?! IMG_0157 by kathy, on Flickr IMG_2265 by kathy, on Flickr

My Shasta 63 Astrodome was also only vented outside at the bottom, the top vent was inside the trailer in the countertop.

If the fridge works, it works. Sometimes, they have been repaired in the past so the cooling units are in better shape than expected. If it doesn't work, a new one would be a better way to go. There aren't any companies that are rebuilding old cooling units that I know of. So, if it doesn't work, it's toast.

Thanks for the feedback everyone! Was hoping to get out to see this one sooner but between the owners schedule and needing to wait until tire stores are open after Labor day weekend it's going to take a while to see it...

Got to see this one on Sunday and it turned out to be a much bigger basket case than I'd hoped - so passed on buying it. I'm keeping my eyes open for another prospect so will probably check back in with the VTT folks in the not too distant future. Take care all :-)

All "vintage" trailers need to be mostly rebuilt. They are all rotten for the most part unless they have been sitting inside and unused most of their life. The important thing is that it isn't missing anything. The other important thing is to make sure you can get it home safely. You're gong to pay between $1000 and $2000 for such a trailer on Craig's List today.
