Hi Friends, Are folks fastening the plywood to the C-Channel of the frame next to the wheel well openings? Below is a picture of one of the wheel well openings on my Westerner. Red arrows mark the part of the plywood I am asking about. Originally, nothing attached the floor here. It just rested on the top of the C- channel. Only 4 bolts on each sill and 3 down the middle kept the floor attached to the frame. Thanks, Rod

I'd add one there, maybe two. The theory is the wardrobe will add rigidity but I don't think an added bolt will hurt. Others may disagree because the camper survived 50+ years without it.

Hi NC,
If I do, what size diameter bolt and what type of bolt? Elevator, carriage, hex? What about just clamping with glue?

I like elevator bolts although carriage bolts have also worked fine for me.

NC,
So, just to confirm, in this case, would you drill into the top of the C-Channel to allow the elevator bolts to go from the top of the plywood through the top of the frame? The wheel wells sit on top of the floor, so would I need to counter sink the elevator bolts so the wheel wells could fit flush on top of the plywood?
Thanks,
Rod

As you tighten these down they sink into the plywood flat.
"drill into the top of the C-Channel to allow the elevator bolts to go from the top of the plywood through the top of the frame?"
Yes.
