I needed to lower my trailer about 3 inches. I schemed about how this would be accomplished. One day I pulled into the safeway parking lot and looked down and noticed some illegally dumped tires in the bushes. I took a slightly closer look and they had a 5 on 4 bolt pattern and looked smaller than my Shasta tires. I mentioned it to my wife and she was like WTF no way are you putting those in our car. HAHA. Well the next day I grabbed some measurements of the Shasta to confirm the fit and went back to pull them out of the bushes. I finally threw them on the Shasta a couple of days ago and they lowered it just enough to get her under the carport! My wheels are about 24" and the ones I found were about 18.75". So I was able to lower it just a little more than 2.5". I figured out these are forklift tires. I have 10" brakes and the backside of these tires do not have the triangular buttresses seen on the outside so they fit well. Thought I'd share in case any one else needed a couple of inches of extra clearance. I suspect a forklift repair place would have a stack of them rusting out back. I had to put a new axle on her last summer due to bad spindles and it needed to be underslung as it was a round axle with welded spring seats. It would no longer fit under the carport after I did that so she sat out in the rain all winter....
