For kicks - I set the inside framing into my front window opening just to see how it looked.. IMG_2933 by kathy, on Flickr This is how it fit: IMG_2932 by kathy, on Flickr Is it supposed to cover the whole width of the wood? I used 1/4" birch vs 1/8" for my walls- but they are 1/4" off. Is this going to be an issue? if so- how to fix? Purchase wider metal framing? I know the front windows on my Shasta are a PITA already- so I want to make sure this is something I deal with before too long. Thanks for any help you can give K

Well don't forget that the glass will take up some of that space so if you had used 1/8 inch it would have all disappeared...

Gotcha- so if I used 1/8th paneling- there would be no gap with the window in. Is my remaining 1/8" gap a problem? I did watch your video on installing these front windows- so I know to put the thin strips of wood there to hold in the window- gonna follow your directions to the T to make sure they don't leak. Just making sure that this wider gap isn't going to be a problem. THanks Larry

I had the same problem. I bought some flashing, cut it into strips that I slipped under the window frame, and bent over the inside of the opening, so it is secured by the inside window framing. Not noticable, even looking at it, just looks like part of the window frame.
