So our icebox and stove are in pretty decent shape but want to clean them up a little better.
The stovetop is white porcelain and looks great.
The icebox exterior is okay but want to look better.
Any suggestions on paint type!
Have considered powdercoat but may melt solder joints and icebox door has a wood interior.
Thoughts / suggestions?
Bob

Inside the icebox Rusto hammered silver works really well. It's a metal color and dries to a gloss which keeps things from sticking. If you like Glamp, hammered has tons of colors....
Gelgloss is great for a light polish. Works on tables and counters too.

I was going to initially paint my refrigerator to match the stove and sink which were red and which a had re-porcelained to bring them back but after some consideration I decided that the original vintage white is very charming. I think sometimes adding too much colour can kill the vintage charm. But since it’s a trailer and really it’s for having fun it’s best to just do what makes you happy..

RinTin can you tell me what the metal tray is in your cabinet set up in the photo? Is it for the oven? If yes... why? Just wondering if I should be doing that...

Besides being decorative, it protects the wood by deflecting heat escaping around the edge of the oven door. A few more pics:

Oh that’s cool. Do you have your own brake for bending the metal?

That looks really nice!
I think I'm going to line mine with metal also because when I just pulled out the oven it looked a bit burnt underneath.

Did you replace the insulation on the outside of the icebox and is that how you got the inside tray off?
