OK then. Just like I said. Just start looking around on the internet for stuff going on in your area. You can also find out by going to Tin Can Tourists to see if there is one listed near you and you can ask there of course. Also the new Vintage Trailer Magazine put out by VTS I think....

Aloha, we'll host our own rally when we get our trailers presentable. I really enjoy meeting other campers and a little socializing but we are generally more of primitive campers with conveniences and loners or with a small group of friends. I'm not a Glamper. I don't even like that word. Practical and attractive. That's all I go for.

Thanks Larry. I have subscribed to the Vintage Trailer magazine. Also the Australian one which is quite the mag -- glossy centerfolds and all! I'll certainly keep an eye out for a rally. Would love to go play lookie-lou if nothing else.
Done deal SusieQ. I find the Glamping thing interesting but it's not quite in keeping with my personality. Though, 1500 miles into a hike I did have someone ask if I was a weekender or short section hiker. It seems if you wear ear rings and try to clean up nightly before you crawl into your tent people think you're only out for the weekend. Too funny! I would have thought they could smell me after four months wearing the same clothes and living in a tent!

Hosting your own is how these things get started. Two people go camping and set up next to each other with their beautiful vintage trailers and the next thing you know there's 10. Then 20. The Pismo Rally with 350 is a little too big for what I like. I like keeping it down to 10 to 20 and we have lots of little rallies like that around here. But I also do a lot of real camping with and without trailers and or tents.

I watched your Big Bear video last night -- that looked like fun. Noisey but fun. I can remember hiking by Big Bear on the PCT hike. Nice area; great place to play and camp with or without a trailer.

I watched your Big Bear video last night -- that looked like fun. Noisey but fun. I can remember hiking by Big Bear on the PCT hike. Nice area; great place to play and camp with or without a trailer. The cars at the Big Bear Rally were an added treat that really has nothing to do with the trailer rally other than the fact that they all do a loop around the lake and the parade goes right by us. There are also two videos of the Wrightwood Rally which is another place you went through on the PCT after you crossed the 15 freeway. I bet you stopped there before you crossed and had a Big Mac didn't you.... And I have a Teardrop Rally on video. Here are the links for anyone who is interested. 2008 Run To The Top Rally in Wrightwood, CA. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ey0_7oJItpU2008 Run To The Top Rally in Wrightwood, CA. www.youtube.com/watch?v=dIGm-VXdDxo2010 Tear Drop Rally in Perris, CA. www.youtube.com/watch?v=e2MC7sUQaRMBig Bear Vintage Trailer and Car Rally 2013 www.youtube.com/watch?v=v9OiG5orcOs

I did stop there and had breakfast! I actually camped under the telephone wires south of there and headed in early hoping to nab a breakfast, fill up with SEVEN liters of water for the hump up and over. I didn't get out early enough from Mac's and ended up running out of water before getting into Wrightwood. Camped in a horrible spot, lots of shotgun shells everywhere, made it into town the next day through a tricky path of snow and got myself a nice little hotel room. Yep... I remember it!
Thanks for the video listing.
