5,000 lbs.
Sorry didn't mean to high jack thread. I'll start a new thread with tow vehicle options later. I'm looking at several. Like wider wheel base as well. Poquito

Unless you're towing through mud/snow/ice I don't see any reason to spend the extra money up front and potentially higher maintenance costs and lower fuel mileage of a 4WD. I had a 2WD tacoma and it was great for towing, only reason I got rid of it and got a 4WD (FJ Cruiser) is because I wanted to off-road. The trails I go on there's no way a 2WD would make it, but neither would my 65 year old trailer

We have a 2009 BMW x-3 AWD. The camper is a piece of cake to tow and fuel economy is around 16 or 18 mpg. We take it off paved roads fairly regularly, which we certainly don’t need the AWD for, but we also use it to tow a 1985 16-foot Bayliner runabout that we restored. We’re more comfortable towing the much heavier boat getting up and down steep, slippery boat ramps, with the AWD. Other than that, the suspension in German cars for some reason Decreases my propensity to motion sickness. An important quality when driving a couple thousand miles.

My wife says most men get convertibles in their mid life crises. I told her real men don’t drive convertibles.

My wife says most men get convertibles in their mid life crises. I told her real men don’t drive convertibles. Real men have both a huge truck and small convertible...and more than one camper.

Are you sure that's a truck.

Ah, Bigbill, you make my heart sing!
Yeah, it's a truck, same frame as my Trail Blazer. I'd guess between a S10 and 1500. Chevy made a huge mistake getting rid of the Trailblazer.
Blaze is rated at 5000, SSR at 3500. Scrawnier radiator and no tranny cooler. Oh, and I forgot to mention that weird German hitch. It actually locks onto the vehicle.
Real men and women tow vintage trailers because we CAN.
