I have a 1971 Scotty Sportsman hightop I need to go pick up. It is about 2.5 hours away with flat tires. I have a 18’ standard car hauler trailer. I need to know the axle width to see if it will fit my trailer. If I knew the bolt pattern I could get some wheels and tires to take with me to pull it home. Can anybody share this information with me.

Hi and Welcome bf, I don't know anything about Scotty's. However, is this what you are looking for? www.nationalserroscotty.org/rebuilds/qualls/index.html Maybe that will help. Scroll down and you will see one of the before pictures of the profile. There is no hubcap, so it looks like a 5 lug wheel. Here is another one, that might help. Here is a better picture behind a truck. You can compare the truck and trailer together for perspective. Here is where I found the above image. www.milesboyer.com/Other/Serro-Scotty-Sportsman/n-SGkqw/As for it fitting on the trailer, I would think it would. That's a small trailer and by looking at the picture, the axle looks narrow. I would think it's narrower than any big American car, probably no wider than a midsize car. Again, I have no experience. I am just offering observations and a guess. Hopefully someone else will chime in with more background. Cheers, Rod
