anyone ever bolted up a hitch to the rear of the trailer?
I have a 61 Shasta Oasis and I have been wondering if its possible to bolt up a hitch receiver so I can tow a boat behind it. not a huge boat but your average bayliner.
anyone ever done that before, or am I once again off on my own on this?

This can be done But when you hitch a trailer the rear of a trailer you need to be aware of a few things. Such as the added weight on the rear of the front trailer subtracts hitch weight from the front trailer causing it to possibly develop sever problems with sway. Next when front trailer sways it multiplies on the rear trailer, which also then causes the front unit to sway worse. In other words you can get in a totally uncontrollable situation in a heartbeat. If you notice when Semis are towing doubles they have a tow dolly between the trailers that is designed for that purpose, but if you watch them you will see the rear trailer sway more than the front one. I have seen people tow boats behind a camper but in my opinion it is beyond the average persons abilities to set up and tow such a unit. If you attempt this please do a lot of research and be VERY CAREFUL.

I have seen triples before (Semi) and that 3rd trailer is always swaying all over the road. Thanks for the pointers on that. (I wouldn't of thought of that) I have checked my states regulation and it does require what Nevada call a J endorsement and I should check CA because that's the only 2 states I go really.
Camping just isn't as fun without a boat.

This combo would be a double not a triple, a double is the tractor and two trailers. Triples are outlawed in many states except on certain freeways and turnpikes. You also have a maximum total length you must not exceed with out special permits and escorts. You might also be considered a commercial vehicle requiring a CDL drivers license and special tax permits. There are many things to consider before doing this, I would also check with my insurance company to make sure they covered that type of vehicle combination.
