Few pix of our 55. Just trying to get some posted, flicker. Making good progress. Decided to go with the Fantastic Fan after all. Just finished new 12v and 120v wiring, 14/2 Romex. Thanks Larry! New junction box installed in closet, 2, 15 amp breakers. 12v JB will be installed under dinette seat. New 13 Gallon freshwater tank on order. Have one side insulated, and will be closing up the front end with new birch panel this week. New dining seat boxes roughed out for install after panel laid up. flic.kr/p/K6qsPCwww.flickr.com/gp/158814164@N07/916756www.flickr.com/gp/158814164@N07/gzsg2Uflic.kr/p/27ehzbPAnother one of my viewers did a Pleasurecraft. His trailer is in a few of my videos. Great little trailers.

Yea the Pleasurecraft has all the basic amenities, to include twisty nails, rot and termites but it's been straightforward so far getting it rebuilt.
I plan to have it all buttoned up by Memorial Day and ready for new skin in early June. We'll be ordering from HV all white
Anyone ever use one of the commercial auto paint houses for basic accent stripes? Not up to doing that myself and don't want to break the bank for a paint job.

I just used one on the 66 Super Shasta with all new polar white metal from HV. He seemed to have no problems with it. I had him repaint the entire thing white first before the detailed stripes because I scratched the original paint quite a bit during the build. If you are very careful and do not use a router to cut out your windows and door and other openings you can stick with the polar white.

Thanks Larry. Yea I've seen your vid on using the router where the chaff gets under the router baseplate. Let you know how I do when I'm at that point
I'll check into a couple paint places and see what I can come up with. Do want to keep the base Polar White, and avoid painting the entire trailer.
What about using the router from the inside using a bit with the correct profile bearing....? I might check into that. Tape off the wood to protect it....door would be a challenge.

I actually found the proper bit which is the ones they still use in factories today. And you need to use a variable speed router so you can slow it down to like 3 out of 10. Then you need to take the table off the router. That's how they do it in the factories but it takes a bit of practice to get it right. I have practiced and still get in trouble so I won't do it that way anymore for most openings. Wheel wells only now. The others I use the multi tool...

When we looked for someone to paint Hamlet (59 Compact), we talked to about four different auto painting places. None would touch it. In desperation we took it to the RV repair section at Camping World. They were fantastic. When I went to pick it up, everyone I. The shop and most of the people working I. The store came out to say goodbye! That was seven years and thousands of miles ago. Hamlet still looks great. We’d do it that way again.

Might try them when we get ready. I did stop by another local trailer shop that also has a paint booth. Supposedly they do good work but was quoted $3-8k for just accent stripes. Don't think I'll be doing business there....I know paint is not cheap but let's be realistic....

What a day.
Finally got the seat bases cut, shellaced and installed in the 55. The fit is great, seats fit nice, table lays flat, level and centered. Enjoying a cold one at the dining table now for a major milestone accomplishment. Ol yellow lab Bailey, found a spot on the floor.
Good day!

Great reading this thread. We just picked up a 1955 Pleasurecraft like yours. Your experience will help us in our work. Thank you. Very cool, congrats! It was pretty straightforward in tear down and now the rebuild is almost complete. Don't be surprised at the lack of quality control in this model. She's absolutely solid now with no issues. I took a lot of photos along the way - let me know and I can email. Good luck!

Took Thursday and Friday off from my other real job last week and spent the 4 days completing a lot of tasks.
Installed and checked out new harness and taillight wiring
Installed new 13g freshwater tank for syphon hand pump.
Cutout ceiling and tested new fantastic fan (runs quiet!) built up the frame another 3/4" with 22.5 degree slope
Completed all the new 12v wiring switches and junction box to control new porch light and cabin LED light
Finished the dining table backer and interior mount
Ran new 10g copper ground from 120v Breaker Box to frame
Got a good start on installing the curbing Wasted an hour trying to clear a jam on my nail gun!
Got a lot accomplished, just need to finish curbing, insulation and Tyvek and she'll be ready for that new dress!

Quick update:
Curbing is all complete now. Finishing the insulation and tyvek wrap this weekend.
Had a few minor 'do overs' (freshwater water fill and headboard) but interior is 95% complete. Dining seat boxes, table, rear bed, bunk bed all installed. Water, propane and all new electrical finished.
Just got off phone with HV RV, new skin ordered!
Should be ready for maiden camp out in early-mid July.
What a project!
