After attending several vintage trailer rallies, some basic research and talking with other owners, wife and I found a nice little 13' 1955 Pleasurecraft.
Upon initial inspection, she was 95% original, all appliances and hardware. The walls did feel hollow in some corners and obvious termite and water damage, we made the deal and began transportation arrangements for the 60 mile drive home.
Pulled the front skin, and found rot and termites damage as expected. I will continue with ext skin removal to inspect walls and sil areas. I'm fully expecting add'l issues here.
Anyway just a quick intro and appreciate all the knowledge base on this forum, especially from Larrys YouTube videos!
More to come...
Not sure how to post pix to PB but will update later

Made some progress on the '55 last weekend. Had to take some time off due to the local fires, what mess that was.
Pulled all nails in the roof / walls. Roof is now ready to remove once Santa Ana winds subside. Now the question is how do I store the roof so it won't get bent or damaged. For now it's secured to the trailer with a few screws.
Been working on the front window, frame and glass. This trailer had been stored near a cement making company. So for many years the cement dust had settled and accumulated on the window frames and rain gutters. Extremely hard to remove without damaging the aluminum. I'm now going to try a heavy duty acid concrete removal product.
Peaked under the sidewall skins to get an idea of any water rot. Didn't look too bad but we'll see when all the skins ns are removed next week.
Fun little project so far but I'm still in the disassembly stage....

Bob Oside If the edges of the roofing is straight and not bent over, from detaching the roof from the sides, I believe it can be rolled up and stored that way. Be very careful though s it could cause the roofing to crack inwards if there is any bent over edges. Now do not take My word on that, there are a lot of people far more experienced with saving the roof than I. Hopefully someone will chime in and let You know if this would be proper.

"...had been stored near a cement making company. So for many years the cement dust had settled and accumulated on the window frames and rain gutters" Well, that's a new one.

Yes, rolling it will work. Be SURE to straighten the edges first or the metal will split.

Got it. Will straighten. Depending on final condition of roof I may replace it but want to keep original if good.
Thanks

Tip: Inspect roof carefully for damage. Waterproofing tape works well if placed on the underside of holes and flaws. Clean the roof really well and paint Proflex sealer over flaws. (paint on only, NOT the caulk) When all is repaired, you can paint. I roll my roofs with Rustoleum oil based paint and have had excellent results. The paint is thicker when rolled, so don't roll below sight line. If the roof is pinholed, you will have to replace. Proflex: www.campingworld.com/shopping/item/proflex-brushable-sealant/21208

There was some earlier caulking material of some type added to one of the roof seams. Will have to see what that's all about when I pull it down. I'll check out the seal material you recommended. Thx
