So I have a question. I need to re-pack the wheel bearings On my trailer. My question is how tight To tighten the axle nut? It's a single Axle. Thanks!

After the bearings are packed, tighten the adjuster nut real tight, then, give the hub several spins in both directions, this will squeeze excess grease fron the bearings. Next step is to back the nut way off, then bring the nut to just touching the bearings washer or inner race, no more than finger tight is the final adjustment. If the nuts can not be turned by hand, then, take Your time, tighten the nut down a little at a time, wiggling the hub between tightenings. Take it down until there is no more wiggle left between the spindle and the hub, then back the nut up just slightly so there is a very slight wiggle, should be able to just barely feel the wiggle. The wiggle would be made by pressing against the top then the bottom of the hub, or the front then the back. If the nut needs to be turned to align the castles to the hole for the cotter key, then always back the nut off. I like to pull the trailer a ways then recheck the bearings to make sure there is still a slight wiggle. A little too much slack is better than having the bearings adjusted too tight.

Thanks Marty!
I tighten snuggly by hand, then back up to the cotter pin hole. Sometimes you can tighten a hair more to find the hole. You can feel if it's too tight. Back off if the wheel doesn't spin freely.

I think replacement is probably the best Option. It has a beer can for a hub cap. I looked closer and came to this conclusion.
