Hi robert. I am not the VIN expert around here, but if I am not mistaken, there should be a few more characters in the VIN of a California-built Shasta. From what I know though, a wooden screen door is a sign that it was built before 1960, and if it is an Airflyte model, it would date between 1958 and 1960, Airflytes began production in '58, and the screen door was changed to the aluminum frame for the 1960 production year, generally speaking. You may want to post over here: vintagetrailertalk.freeforums.net/thread/22/shasta-vin-model-database-includeAnd I am sure that our curator of Shasta VINs, Ross , would be happy to help narrow it down. P.S. When you go looking for them, the wings for that were two pieces and were 42" X 9".

RobertThe vin# is missing the prefix letter. Do you know what it is, robert? I believe that it could be the letter "C" that is missing. If it is, the vin# should read as C11862, which would have been produced in 1959, from Van Nuys, California.
