Is that the battery tray on the side of the tongue? I like the idea if it is.... Great job!

Is that the battery tray on the side of the tongue? I like the idea if it is.... Great job! Yes it is. I upgraded the electrical to include a new panel and converter. For now I will simply utilize a wet cell 12 volt deep cycle battery with a charging circuit from my tow vehicle. Later I plan on installing solar panels on my pickup canopy and integrating that in to the circuitry. I went into this a little more in depth in the old forum but haven't followed up on it here. I have lots of scrap metal laying around the place so projects like this keep my mind active. I can show more detail if you are interested. I have a plastic battery box that just fits nicely in that tray.

Thank you all for the nice compliments. As I have said before, it has been a 2 year labor of love/hate/frustration but looking at the finished product makes all of that worth while. Don't get me wrong, I still have a few things to do to call it "finished" but we are closer. As we say in the construction world, I can now actually produce a "punch list". I would also be remiss if I didn't say that those of you that have shared your idea's and knowledge have been a big part of the success of this project. Thank you and we will continue to share our progress as well as any helpful hints that we discover. I really am planning on putting together a pictorial story of the rebuild/restore along with the things I have learned in the process in hopes it will help someone else starting on this journey.

OH, before I forget, I am actively searching for the next labor of love. I have found about 4 of them some being SOB's (other than Shasta) and some being ?. I found one the other day in a pasture and will at some point be looking to this forum for positive identification. I'm sure I could "steal" it but it would be a frame up for sure. Over the past several (more that 20) years it has been everything from a hunters destination spot to a home for a fellow riding herd on a herd of buffalo. I know for at least the past 10 years it has been just sitting and deteriorating. On we go.
