Whew! Was afraid I had made a mistake but luckily I find that the only mistake made was in thinking I had made a mistake... or something like that! Know the feeling. I thought I was wrong once, but it turned out I was mistaken.

Number Ten how wide is your Airflyte? Finally, five minutes.... Measured across the roof, 84 inches edge-to-edge. I have a lot of stuff piled around it so measuring the length bumper-to-ball is impossible, but the cabin measures somewhere around 13' 4".

You found it Number Ten - the Airflyte Deluxe! That's the ad that confused me. After looking at it harder the differences, though minimal, are there. On mine, there is only one baggage compartment, located curbside; only 6.5' wide and weighs in at 1560 lbs (I believe). Otherwise that's my trailer and layout. Maybe another measurement needs to be taken. Box only or ball to bumper? Am heading back to the mountains tomorrow to see the Hatfields - or are they the McCoys? - and will try to remeasure when I do. Any way it goes, it's still missing the second baggage door. Wouldn't it be cool though if it was the Deluxe. Thanks for searching.

Ahhhh... Jiminey Cricket! So many choices! BoandSusan - are you asking if your 1500 has two compartments? I think I have to let you answer that one! Right now my understanding is that my 64 is a 1500 due to its size (15ish feet from ball to bumper x 6.5' wide). My confusion came in because its interior layout fits the Astroflyte Deluxe but its size (slightly bigger than the 1500) and the two baggage compartments (vice my one) shown in the ad does not. So let's see....
BoandSusan: 63 1500 = (LL x WW x HH (ball to bumper)) and ?? baggage compartment door(s) Aloha!: 64 1500 = (15ish x 6.5' x ??); one curbside baggage compartment door; gas lamp on cabinet wall facing dinette BigBill: 68 1500 = (<12'(box) X 6.5' x HH); no outside baggage compartment door; kitchen sink & stove reversed from 64; gas lamp over sink
Astroflyte Deluxe: (supposedly 1' longer than 1500 x 7' x HH); two outside baggage compartment doors; same interior layout as 64
Anyone else with one of these babies? Add it in. It's kind of fun seeing all the little tweaks Shasta made along the way.

My gas light was over stove, sink in front of window. Icebox and closet on right side just behind door. I can't believe they put the gas light above the stove but they did. I wonder if you could order one made the way you wanted, up to a point, or if they sometimes changed things do to materials available at different times. Or maybe made changes in order to use up defective counters and such.

BigBill, your thoughts on the possibiity of our little two-wheeled children being "customized" sounds quite viable. In comparison to yours, my gas light is on the side of the kitchen cabinet wall facing the dinette... The stove is under the window with the sink to the right. The closet and icebox are also located doorside with the icebox directly across from the stove. Admittedly none of this means that someone hasn't made changes along the way. As we've all noticed, someone did do something to this one -- the drawer handles are upside down!

Well have we messed up lol. I don`t believe we own a 1500. I`m unsure what we have now. L slightly under 16ft w 7ft 2 exterior luggage compartments. Mobiltec.....our title says, first registered in Oct 63, list price $1,295. Shasta TV. It states no model on the title. I recently saw a video of you doing the flooring in a Shasta for Bob and Cindy. Fresh exterior paint, blue and white. You said that it had been covered in snow and was parked next to a house for 30yrs. That trailer is IDENTICAL to ours inside and out. Jalousie windows all round, 2 luggage compartments etc. Do you remember which model it was?

Sinks usually have counter space to the right. I don't know anything about these models, maybe it is set up like that for some other reason, but as a righty, that would drive me nuts.

It seems the Shasta Airflyte Deluxe model was set up for a lefty then. Sounds like BoandSusan have one of those little darlings. I believe someone said they're a bit more rare or at least harder to come by. Sure hope they're left-handed!
