Aloha All! Finally! I've finally been able to find the time and create a Photobucket account (thanks to the forum for the instructions), upload a few pictures (seem to be missing half of what I tried to upload) while commuting to work at O-dark-30 in the morning via a MiFi, and possibly now get your inputs on whether my new-to-me trailer is an Airflyte or 1500. I lean toward a 1500 based on, if memory serves me - which it often doesn't, measuring it as 6.5 feet (width) and ?? feet (tongue to bumper). See? Already forgot the length. Give it a look and let's chat. In the meantime I'll try and upload more to include the sleeping area. For now, story time...
"Look! A trailer! Behind and beside that old shed! Let's stop!"
"Out here? You're going to get shot one day doing this."
"Yeah, possibly but today's not the day. I feel lucky!"
And so we stopped. The owners happened to be in town/state but were quite unwilling to part with their little darlin'. He called it his personal Dog House - "for when I'm in the dog house I can just go out here, close the door, sit, read, watch tv, whatever, and happily be in the dog house. My own dog house." As I laughed and thanked them for their time Dog House man happened to remember that his across the creed buddy called him "just yesterday" to ask if he wanted to upgrade his dog house to a slightly larger model wherein he had declined. He agreed to call his buddy and pass along my phone number and interest. It wasn't 30 minutes before the phone rang. Turns out it belonged to the Buddy's cousin, but was sitting on his land, who just happened to be standing beside him. How convenient! Long story short, we met the following day, did a few minor tests (electric hook up - inside lights worked), talked bubba (country and hunting), kicked a few tires and inspecte the axle like I knew what I was doing (I didn't), talked more bubba, negotiated a touch, talked some more bubba, hooked up (found rear lights "were no longer working... but they did just yesterday), convinced the buddy and cousin that I didn't need for them to follow me up the mountain, chatted even more Buba, and finally moved on out! The reason I didn't want them to follow was because I was just moving it to my Handy-Andy man's house which just so happened was around the corner and back on the other side of the creek. Turns out there's a Hatfield and McCoy issue between Handy-Andy and the Buddy which is why Handy-Andy wasn't with me to begin with! Go figure! It's there now and in work and that's all that matters!
Oh, Handy-Andy did tell me that another bubba (Bubba #2) had talked to Bubba #1 and told him that he was pretty sure his old trailer was sitting in his nemesis's (Handy-Andy) yard. Bubba #1 seems to have replied "Can't be. I sold that to a gal from the city. She took it with her." Handy-Andy just couldn't resist telling Bubba #2 that it was the same knowing that it would get back to Bubba #1! Welcome to my Virginia mountains!
Now, fingers are crossed that this link works! Click below... I hope.
