I painted the frame, bumper & tongue with Rustoleum "Aluminum" oil based paint. Good product and looks just like the silver / gray on the original frame. I just brushed it on...came out nice.
Thanks for the comments. This has been a fun project.

What kind of prep work did you do on the frame? Finish for rims planned?

Yeah, I dropped by a local body shop and asked for a budgetary quote. We talked, I showed him pics and dimensions. We talked about automotive 2 stage color / clear coat. I asked how much. He said "seven to ten." I couldn't comprehend what he was saying. I asked him to repeat himself. He said "$7,000 - $10,000 . . . that's alot of work and I'll have quite a bit tied up just in materials." I about had a stroke. I don't mind paying professionals to do a quality job, but no way am I going to pay that. He is either super busy and not interested or thinks I look like a guy that will shell out that kind of cash. You guys are inspiring me to put my compressor to work and go buy a paint gun.

Oh Man314, I'm glad you didn't pass out! That was quite a shock...
Larry, what did you used to pay in Calif when the trailers went out for paint? Was it that high?

I always thought it was around $3500 for a pro paint job. Am I that removed from reality?
