if i might make a suggestion when removing the lug nuts.
All the above suggestions using PB blaster is spot on. Spraying and letting them soak is a plus. When you go to remove them for the first time I suggest that you first by hand using a cross style lug wrench supported by a jack stand tighten the nut just a smidgen to break loose any crud between the threads.
Next start to loosen the nut about a 1/4 of a turn then re-tighten slightly. Repeat this process loosening the nut the second time 1/2 a turn then re-tighten 1/4 turn and also re spray with PB blaster. Keep doing this till the nut comes off
This back and forth action of un-tighten/ tighten will help clear any rust and crud from between the threads and you will find it far easier to get the nuts off. If the crud remains the nut can lock up and you risk snapping off the stud.
Once you have all the nuts off by hand and you have cleaned the threads with a wire brush inspect them for any damage.
Once your satisfied their OK then you can use your compressor and impact gun to put them back on. you may find that the by hand method may not work and the impact driver is the only way to go. if you do snap a stud have a garage press the new one in with a press. Its the only way to be sure the stud is seated properly and will not turn when you tighten the nut.

It's been almost a year since Mattp started this thread.
Mattp, can you post any progress? I am sure I am not the only one curious.
Also, Vikx, can you copy Stan's advice for the lug nuts and place in the tutorial section? His advice is really really good.
