I currently don't have a spare tire for my 68 Starflyte, but just purchased 2 new (14") wheels, and want to get 2 new tires and keep my current tires/wheels as spares. I currently have ST215/75 R14 tires, but I have no idea if that is what I should be running. I do know they are a real pain to remove and install with air in them! Is there anywhere that listed stock tires sizes for these trailers?
Could I go with 205 rather than the 215? A 215 is 26.7" tall and 8.5" wide where the 205 is 26.1" tall and and 8.1" wide. That .4 difference is width might be just what is needed for removal and installation ease, but would it affect travailing on the road? I kind of hate losing that height difference though as my Shasta seems to already be pretty low to the ground

There is an old Shasta brochure somewhere that listed all of the specs, weights, lengths, tire sizes, etc. It was likely in the brochures section of the forum, but probably unavailable due to photoscmucket's recent strongarm highway robbery tactics. I have a 1970 16SC which is very similar in specs to the Starflyte. I have Maxxis 8008's on it, ST205-75R15. It pulls like it's not there. I am sure you can run the 205-width tires on it with no problems, and save the aggravation of the wheel well clearance issue. The Starflyte may have had 15-inch rims originally, but replacing with 14's also should not be any issue, at least none I have ever heard of.

Thanks for the info, Ten. I'll see if I can find the brochure you mentioned. I think I may have even saved the file. I kind of wish I had bought the 15" wheels now, rather than the 14's. Probably be a bit expensive shipping them back though. I was all set to buy a set of the Goodyear Endurance tires today, but now I'll wait until I know for sure the size and also if I should have 15". I have no plans for the camper till the last week of July, so I have a little time

This was really helpful since I'll have to replace tires on my Starflyte when (if) I get her.
