The VIN is on the front tongue. Look on the frame on the curb side. That's the side with the entry door. Usually on the side of the frame or on top. Stamped in. Might have to remove paint to see it. Get the wire brush out.

I had trw email pics of their Shasta and the pate info, back around July 20th. This was my reply....
If the vin# started with the letter"C" it would be a 1961 Shasta, but since it is the squared off version and the title states the first letter to be "G", that fits better. I also believe that you have is a Shasta 1500, which was produced in 1965, in Northridge, California.
Your complete vin# should read GS24227-PA3923

varnvintage So sorry that I didn't catch your post earlier. Looks like you have a 1971 Shasta Loflyte, produced in Columbia, South Carolina.

embery Your Shasta 1400 was produced in Goshen, Indiana, in 1972. Hope this helps. Ross

Hi Ross! I am new to this. I'm trying to buy a 1972 Shasta Compact. The owner does not have a title. What do I need to do. The vin on this trailer is 34031 there is no letters in front or behind. I'm in NM and don't want to and will not buy it without a title. Can you see if this is the right vin for a 1972 compact? It's pretty boxy and small.

dodee Based on the numbers of the vin#, if the Shasta Compact was produced in Indiana, it would be a '73 Compact......if from South Carolina, it would be a '76 Compact.......Couldn't have been from any of the California plants or from Washington, Texas or Pennsylvania plants. I would say that if the green manufacture's plate, next to the entry door states Goshen, Indiana, it is a 1973 Compact. Good move on not purchasing without a title! BUT, you could check with your local DMV and see what they require, if a title isn't available. Hope this helps. Ross

Hello Last weekend we purchased without a title what we are told is a 1974 Shasta Airflyte, but the Seller was not positive (she was going with what she was told by who she purchased it from). We would love to get some confirmation and any information anyone would have. The Vin# is P12053. We are getting ready to restore her back to her former glory and would love to have a orignal floor plan and features. We have been doing online research and cannot find a '74 Airflyte anywhere? Any help you can supply would be greatly appriciated. Thanks so much and have a great day. Tara and Jeff

Judging by the little I remember about the Pennsylvania VIN numbers, "P12..." should date to somewhere about 1967-68. The Airflyte form that approximate time: Your window layout is different however. It is likely not the Airflyte.

tarakelly Your Shasta was produced in 1968 and I believe that you have a Starflyte, not an Airflyte.

Ross and Ten Thank you. I was thinking it wasn't an Airflyte also and that it was not a '74 because I could not match up the window layout to anything I found. Is it common for people to attach wrong Shasta model logo? It doesn't seem like the exterior has been changed except for painting. For some reason I cannot figure out how to insert the photo, but I will try to upload it to my photos. So it is a 1968 Starflyte? Manufactured in Pennsylvania? ![]() Thanks Tara

Sometimes people will attach the wrong cast model name. I figure they are doing to help make the sale. As for the production year, yes, you have a 1968 Shasta, produced in Leola, Pennsylvania. Based on the pictures in your avatar. I still believe that you have a Starflyte. We had a 1970 Starflyte and the window layout was the same as yours and your interior looks to be that of a Starflyte. This is our Starflyte, before we sold it. Hope this helps.
