Didn't someone here pick up one of the Compact-look-alike Zippers last year? We never saw the "wings" before. That is so cool, we need ice tongs to look at the pics!

LOL....And just WHAT exactly is an awning window? Bill will probably step in here but my best guess would be that they are referring to some kind of single pane push out or crank out.

It has surge brakes, kind of rare on a camper. Mobiltech that is how I would describe an awning window.

New axle is the way to go. For anyone who doesn't know what surge brakes are...... The tongue has an articulating section and when you apply brakes to the tow vehicle the weight of the trailer surging against the tow hitch articulates the device that pressurizes the brake lines and activates the brakes. They work OK but the real problem is that it makes it very difficult to back them up. I think some have locks that keep them from actuating but the other problem is that if they have been dry, you need to rebuild the whole setup and it's not worth it. I don't even know if you can get the parts. Bill?

I've rebuilt 3 in the last few years. Not difficult; new master cylinder and clean lines. We've had very good luck with them. Great for people who don't want a brake controller or want to tow with more than one vehicle.
