1 just bought a 14' Red Dale travel trailer. We are trying to figure out the year. We didn't get a title and can't find a plate with the vin anywhere. Anyone have any idea where to start? I can add a photo if i can figure out how to do it...

I have a 71 Red Dale, total length is 14 feet, maybe a few inches. If I remember correctly, it had a plate in the door frame with the VIN as well as on the tongue. reddaletrailer.shutterfly.com/pictures Click on Pictures and Videos to view the albums. It was a MESS...

Unfortunately, i have a feeling that the door has been replaced. No plate on the tounge either. I was hoping the vin was stamped in, but i am thinking this is probably about the same year as yours, so it probably was just a plate that has been lost. It looks similar, but seems to be a little larger than your photos show. I measured it from the front of the box under the front window to the rear. Is yours 14' at that point?
The only things i have found with a date are the water pump (which doesn't look original) and the tounge jack. It has a 6 on one side and a 71 on the other. I just don't know if that's supposed to be a year or not.

Trailers are always measured from the tip of the tongue to the back bumper. So yours is probably more like 16 to 17 feet. It's somewhere in the 70s.

yeah, not bad for $400! We are going to try to keep that and re-do the table with the same formica. Fortunately, I run a small cabinet shop, so the repairs won't be too much of a stretch. We are also gutting a 25' trailer for my daughter and plan to customize it for her. I'll post pics as we go.

You might re-think "gutting" your daughter's trailer. These trailers are repaired from the outside in, opposite of the way they were built...
