Is this enough support for a 6k window unit? Part of the weight in the window, a 2x4 tee in front and two 1/16 inch cables and screw hook. I will build a cabinet around it. This is the drip pan, a box lined with FRP, originally I tried scrap pool vinyl but it didn't work out.

I wonder if warm air needs to vent out the side? Will a cabinet seal up too much of the rear?
As winter turned to Spring, all Vintage camper owners in the South become obsessed with AC. That includes me.

That includes me. The rear vents directly out the side. I believe the air comes in the sides and top. I will have a ceiling vent on top a couple inches clearance on one side and about six on the other. I don't know if it will work or not.

Looks like it should be ok. When driving down the road, it will be like a mini earthquake! I built mine in my Shasta. Mobiletec posted a great video which I was able to mimic. Works great and can see the condensation drip through the tube. I cut a hole on the outside and installed a vent that I open up when in use. Really blows the hot air outside, with the help of a large desk fan behind the AC unit. The last pic shows the vent on top (middle). Good luck!

I think cutting vents into the sides of the cabinet to supply the intakes is recommended for more efficiency.
