Just having to put away our camp chairs, table, wheel chocks, etc., is enough for me. My wife and I have it down to a science. I take care of packing up and hooking up outside, she handles everything inside, then I double check inside and she double checks me outside. 15 minutes and we're on the road. With that said, all we have in the way of glamping gear is a welcome mat, two REI chairs and a small folding table. We're going to our first rally in GA and we feel definitely under-glamped. Bob and Cindy have a gumball machine!

For each his own. We like camping. We started to do glamping but gave it up very quick too much crap to haul all over the USA and too much crap to unload and load again. We look at other peoples camper it is a museum we can not imagine living in that mess. One thing I do like is the old kitchen stuff is much better quality that the new over priced Walmart junk.

To me, the whole point of camping is to simplify. A couple of flannel shirts, a hatchet, some good coffee, a stack of books and an old guitar- that's all I want or need.
The idea of hauling a whole raft of decorative crap with me pretty much defeats the entire purpose. I honestly don't get the whole 'glamping' thing- if you don't like to camp, go stay in a hotel.

I’ll venture a guess that they aren’t taking all that stuff on camping trips, but mostly just to a rally or three. Dirt campsites are not conducive to maintaining the cleanliness and integrity of large area rugs.

Bringing your own trees? I can't imagine doing that, I'd just find a better place to camp.
As for masonite walls, if it's not the coated kind it makes a tremendous amount of dust.

Everyone has their own hobbies. There happens to be a lot of people who go to the rallies for the show. And either they participate or they view. Many do both. Just like the photo I posted of Cindy's Ideal with all the stuff, she is into the show part of the hobby. And she does a great job. Think about what people do with Christmas or Halloween decorations.. Same thing. Some people go all out and most just do enough to get by. It's all up to the individual and I applaud both. I camp in a number of different ways but you can't really call it glamping most of the time. Most of the time I just want simple. I get enough complicated stuff working on these things. I don't want to deal with anything but enjoying my days and nights when I camp. Here's MY idea of glamping... if you want to call it that. Just about anything you could need... Want power?

mobiltec thats about what my campsite looks like too. Every camping trip I try to get rid of something I didn't end up using. The more stuff I dont have to bring the more I can relax and enjoy the trip. I do like looking at all the vintage stuff people put out with their trailers, but I dont enjoy the ruffles and frill that some people do. IMG_1697 by Mel L, on Flickr

I guess my custom one-off Scotty could be glamp ready if I was into that sort of thing. Not that there is anything wrong with that...I just am not into packing and unpacking stuff that I am not actually using. Now I did go out and buy a cool bottle of coffee liquor, pored that out into a plastic tub with lid and put it away just to put my Tullamore Dew Irish Whisky into it. Is that glamping? If so, I may be guilty.
