I haven't actually checked the Avalanche out yet, but supposedly you can fold up the back seats, flip down a panel and have a full 8' covered bed. (They come with a (removable)3 piece hard cover.) In our business we need to transport a lot of framed artwork, so that configuration would work well. Our camper is a cabover, so we have to tow with a low profile vehicle. It would be great to find something suitable for both business and recreation. We've always had a pickup....don't think we could live without one.

Like the Suburban, you can get a full sheet of plywood in the bed. But the low cover aft of the seats reduces the volume of what can be hauled.
In your case, flat panels can be hauled easily. For me I'm often hauling loose cargo like gravel, sand, mulch etc. Pick em ups for me.
